Hello friends, family, and maybe even strangers who have stumbled upon this…

We are asking for support for Cadyn, who’s facing multiple medical challenges, including upcoming surgery and new diagnoses, that require ongoing care and support.

For many years, Cadyn has lived with a range of health conditions, including Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Fibromyalgia, Vasovagal Syncope, Sacroiliitis, and more.

Recent test results that have brought more answers to months of unexplained and worsening pain, fatigue, and increased difficulty with Cadyn’s mobility. Cadyn has been unknowingly living with May Thurners Syndrome and pelvic congestion syndrome. May Thurners Syndrome is a rare vascular condition, causing Cadyn’s left iliac vein to be compressed by the right iliac vein against the spine. This compression leads to a lack of blood circulation back to the heart, meaning the blood is pooling and sitting painfully in their pelvis/legs. This has caused Cadyn worsened fatigue, extreme lower back and hip pain, gastrointestinal and urinary issues, mobility issues, and a variety of other symptoms.

This discovery still prompts more questions, but what we do know is that this has been severely affecting Cadyn's quality of life. After meeting with specialists, Cadyn’s doctors have confirmed the best approach for this severity of a compression is a surgical procedure to get a permanent stent placed on their left iliac vein in order to increase blood flow and support for the vein.

Cadyn needs help raising funds to support them through surgery and recovery. While stent placement is a common surgery, due to Cadyn’s other conditions, they will have a longer recovery time than most. Funds will help Cadyn not be stressed about bills and needs during this time so they can get the treatment they need and recover as stress free as possible.

Cadyn does thank you for all of the support they’ve received so far that has allowed them to attend appointments, survive, and improved treatment options. For example, weekly hydration infusions to help with their POTS symptoms has been possible since February. Funds will continue to go towards daily essentials, bills, travel for appointments, and medical needs as they prepare and recover from surgery.

Steps are being taken to get Cadyn approved for SSI, but this is a long and tedious process that we do not have updates on currently. In the meantime, they are receiving no support other than the help of loved ones from this gfm. Any donation, small or large, will be greatly appreciated.
