This GoFundMe was started for our dear friend Cadyn. For many years, Cadyn has been living with a range of health conditions, including Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Fibromyalgia, Vasovagal Syncope, Sacroiliitis, and Scoliosis. Some of Cadyn’s daily symptoms include severe joint and muscle pain, dislocating and subluxing joints, fatigue, numbness in extremities, extreme gastrointestinal issues, and several other symptoms.

However, recent testing has revealed a troubling result. Cadyn has been unknowingly living with a Spinal Compression Fracture that healed incorrectly. This discovery still prompted more questions and answers, but what we do know is that this has been severely affecting Cadyn's mobility. They are now very reliant on mobility aids. Cadyn has doctor's appointments nearly every weekday, which is difficult to manage due to their condition and the amount of pain they are in.

Cadyn, who had recently earned their Bachelor’s Degree, lost their job in August due to their deteriorating health. They had spent the previous year working at a children’s psychiatric inpatient facility, where they genuinely enjoyed their job. Unfortunately, Cadyn is unable to qualify for unemployment benefits in Ohio because their job loss was attributed to disability.

We are raising funds to help cover the cost of household bills, medical expenses, daily necessities, mobility aids like a power wheelchair ($1,200) and a more supportive cane ($80), braces to assist with joint dislocations and stability ($500), and other devices to support Cadyn’s daily life. Cadyn does not know if they will be physically able to work again or if there will be a job opportunity that is accommodating to their needs. Even if Cadyn is eventually able to work, it would be with limited hours, which would not be sufficient to cover their expenses.
