A New Beginning for a Little Fighter
Our newest family member, little Cadence Oliverson, made her entrance into the world with a fight. After an emergency C-section, she struggled to take her first breath, and doctors immediately knew something was wrong. Cadence was quickly life-flighted to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, where her parents, Kara and Skiler, received a difficult diagnosis.
Cadence has been diagnosed with HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy), a type of brain injury caused by a lack of oxygen. The full impact of this is still uncertain, but Cadence's journey is only just beginning. She faces a long and challenging road ahead that may include a prolonged stay in the NICU, future surgeries, and the possibility of lifelong disabilities.
Despite the unknowns, Cadence is a little fighter, making small but meaningful improvements every day. Her parents are right there with her, providing constant love and support, but the financial and emotional toll of this medical crisis is immense. On top of everything, Kara endured a traumatic c-section and will be unable to lift her other children for at least six weeks, adding another layer of strain to their daily lives.
How You Can Help
Kara and Skiler are dedicated to being by Cadence's side as she fights for her health. Your support will directly help with the far-reaching burdens no family should have to endure alone. Your donation will help with:
- Medical Expenses: Covering the immense costs not fully paid by insurance.
- Lost Wages: Giving them the freedom to be at the hospital without worrying about missed work.
- Travel and Living Expenses: Helping with the cost of living away from home while Cadence is in the hospital.
Even a small donation can provide significant relief and show the Oliverson family that they are not alone. Beyond financial support, we also ask for your help in other ways:
- Childcare: Assisting with their other children, especially with Kara's current physical limitations.
- Home Upkeep: Helping with chores and errands to ease their burden.
- Companionship: Simply reaching out to offer an ear to listen or a shoulder to lean on.
Please, join us in supporting Cadence's fight. Your kindness and generosity will make a powerful difference in this family's life.
