Support Cade and His Family As He Heals

5 month old Cade experienced a horrific trauma on Sunday, June 9, 2024. While his mother, Ashley, was at work, Cade was under the care of a babysitter and was attacked by a dog. The dog had never shown aggression before and there were no indications it had ever been dangerous for kids to be around it. An ambulance rushed Cade to the local hospital, where he was transferred to Riley.
As of Monday, June 10th, Cade has already had to undergo a blood transfusion and two surgeries. He has bite marks and bruises up and down both legs, on his lower back, groin, and buttocks. One of Cade’s legs is missing the entire kneecap and thigh muscle.
He is in critical condition at Riley as they determine what additional surgeries are appropriate.
Ashley is committed to providing for both of her young children. Her employer has stated they will save her job for her as long as they can, and her landlord is trying to be flexible as well. Even with these positives, it’s hard to not get anxious thinking about the short term and long term future. Besides medical bills, the stress of thinking about how to pay rent, gas, and keep providing for two kids while you want to stay bedside in the hospital is huge.
$5 helps with gas to or from Riley.
$10 is part of a Door Dash meal so Ashley doesn’t have to worry about leaving the home to grocery shop as much once they’re home.
$50 is most of a utility or electric bill.
$100 is a good chunk of rent.
Anything helps ❤️ if you can’t give, please share!
