Teaser for the short film, CACTUS CLUB, created and shot in New Mexico with local New Mexico talent. We are in the midst of raising finishing funds for the short version, which will be followed by private screening parties so we can aim for the larger goal: An eight-episode season of CACTUS CLUB.
CACTUS CLUB - A Mid-20th Century Western Noir
Created by Vic Browder for production with New Mexico cast and crew. #newmexicotrue
Two B-grade hoods from Chicago are on the lam after a crime family dispute and turning state's evidence on an ambitious uncle, find themselves in the heat of a southwest blood feud and human trafficking ring in the beautiful, magical place of Cactus Falls, NM.
A ten episode tale of post-WW2 America and the second chances that give us hope.
Visually we hope to shoot this epic tale with the feel of the old detective dime novels of mid-century America. A bit muted with flashes of color in specific places. A mix of any Bogart film and Sin City or Natural Born Killers.
Violent and sexy with a dark sense of humor.
We want to keep this as local to New Mexico as possible and will be using most if not all local talent and crew.
This is a Proof of Concept/Teaser script that we are hoping to have shot by mid-October if not sooner.
