Feed the Beat
Empower Refugee Musicians, Families & Futures in Kakuma
Why We’re Raising Funds -
Imagine being a young artist with a powerful message of hope — but going to bed hungry. Imagine inspiring your community through music — while your family struggles to find its next meal. With recent aid cuts, most of the families of our artists are eating one basic meal of rice/beans per day. Even water is becoming hard to access.
This is the daily reality for many talented BYG musicians living in Kakuma Refugee Camp, in northwest Kenya. These young people use music to speak about peace, resilience, and hope. Their songs inspire thousands of youth in the camp — offering light and strength in a place where opportunities are few.
With recent cuts to U.S. government assistance, food rations have been reduced dramatically. Refugee families who were already struggling now face a growing food crisis — and many of these young artists are among the hardest hit.
BYG Entertainment is more than a music group.
It’s a youth movement. Through their talent, these artists give their community something priceless: hope, identity, and strength.
But even the strongest spirit can’t thrive on an empty stomach.
That’s why we are launching Feed the Beat — a lifeline to provide food and essential support for 10 BYG musicians and their families (over 100 people), while also investing in small income-generating projects to help them build sustainable futures.
This fundraiser is being managed by Fabrice Koutsika (Leader of BYG Entertainment) and Ian Schneider, who is from the USA but spent years in Kenya working for non-profits and donates the funds for the musicians to record songs and videos.
Your contribution will:
- Provide food support for more than 6 months
- Support families in launching small livelihood projects for dignity and self-reliance
- Empower young artists to keep creating and sharing positive messages
- Strengthen the Kakuma youth community from within
Transparency & Oversight
All funds will be managed by the BYG Entertainment Board and tracked and reported to donors by Ian Schneider, the music sponsor for the young artists.
We are fully committed to transparency.
Donors will receive regular updates, photos, and impact reports showing exactly how contributions are changing lives.
