Hello family, friends, and strangers, our 5-year-old Golden Doodle has been recently admitted to the vet ER after many hours of crying in discomfort for no apparent reason. The vet did an ultrasound and found a foreign object about 5mm long in his stomach and also noticed two nodules located on his spleen that could indicate cancer. The surgery that will be performed on 3/25 to remove the foreign object and spleen (for inspection by labs) will cost a lot of money. It is estimated that after the surgery and insurance, the procedure will amount to about $8,000. We will have about half of it covered and are looking to scrape up the rest elsewhere. I know the economy is not the best, and I do not enjoy asking people for money, but we are looking to raise $500 in hopes that it moves the needle closer to our goal. Thank you to everyone who donated and has read our message. Butters is a survivor of autoimmune meningitis at the young age of 11 months old, and we know he will do well with this surgery, even though the neurologist highly discourages him being put under anesthesia as it may cause Butters to relapse.
update 3/25
Butters will be having surgery today. I am so surprised and amazed how the community has raised past my original goal of $500 in the first two hours. We are so grateful and didn’t expect anything. Any and all donations will still go toward the 8K surgery. We will still have the surgery regardless if we go into debt to help our baby
