Butch Koch, the husband of my dear friend Laurie Koch, has been in the ICU on a ventilator since January 1, 2026, battling double pneumonia. This has been an incredibly difficult time for Butch and Laurie, as they face each day with uncertainty and hope for his recovery. Laurie has been by his side, supporting him through every moment, while also carrying the weight of worry and mounting expenses.

The financial strain on their family is overwhelming. Laurie is still paying off medical bills from her own seven-week hospitalization with bacterial meningitis back in 2010, and now these new medical expenses are adding up quickly. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward covering Butch’s medical bills, helping to ease the burden on Laurie so she can focus on supporting her husband’s recovery.
