Hi everyone –

I'm reaching out on behalf of my mom and her beloved dachshund, Busy. Busy is more than just a pet—she's family. At 7 and a half years old, she’s full of energy, sass, and personality. She brings joy to everyone around her and has always lived an active, healthy life thanks to the incredible love and care my mom gives her.

This past week, things took an unexpected and heartbreaking turn. Busy began showing signs of pain, and after an emergency consultation, we learned it wasn’t just a slipped disc—it’s a serious spinal condition that requires intensive back surgery to prevent permanent damage.

Because this level of specialized care isn’t available where my mom lives in Sheridan, Wyo., she had to travel out of state to Billings, Mont. to get Busy the treatment she needs. That means the expenses go far beyond the surgery itself: between veterinary bills, travel, hotel stays, and time away from work, the costs are quickly mounting.

After just Day 1, the total has already reached $3,000, and the most critical phase—surgery—is still ahead. Busy has to stay at least 3-5 days post-op at the vet.

While my mom would never ask for help herself, I want to do this for her and for Busy. If you’re able to contribute, no matter the amount, it would make a meaningful difference. And if you can’t donate at this time, simply sharing this message would be deeply appreciated.
