Support businesses impacted by severe flooding on Cally Road

Donation protected
On 24 February, a burst water pipe caused severe flooding along Caledonian Road, leaving many much‑loved independent businesses facing disastrous damage.

Basements were completely submerged, destroying vital appliances, stock and equipment. For some traders, the scale of loss puts their ability to recover - and even to continue trading - at real risk.

The Caledonian Road Traders Association is raising funds to help these businesses get back on their feet. Your support will enable local traders to replace essential items, carry out urgent recovery works, and reopen their doors as soon as possible, safeguarding jobs, livelihoods and the character of our local high street.

Thames Water have accepted responsibility for the flooding, and affected businesses will be able to make compensation claims. However, the compensation process will not fully cover the losses many traders have incurred, particularly where they need to replace essential appliances and equipment at today’s costs. As a result, many businesses are facing significant financial gaps as they try to rebuild.

Funds will be distributed to independent businesses based on need and the level of damage sustained. This includes those operating along Caledonian Road from Copenhagen Street down to the canal - the area hit hardest by the flooding.

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a genuine difference to a business struggling to recover. Thank you for standing with our local traders at this incredibly difficult time.
