My Story: A Lifetime of Service, A New Beginning

For most of my life, I’ve dedicated myself to helping communities in need. As a longtime development worker, my mission was simple: to bring hope, humanity, and economic opportunities. I believed I would spend my life doing this work—but life had other plans.

Recently, my development job was deemed surplus to requirements. This came as a shock; but instead of seeing it as a bunch of lemons, I’ve decided to make lemonade…and margaritas!

For 20 years, I’ve dreamed of running a food truck. I always thought I’d pursue this passion in retirement, but now I have a chance to make it happen sooner—and I need your help.

Food With a Purpose: Burritos That Build Communities

France has been my second home for over 20 years, but one thing is missing—great Mexican food! My vision is simple:

With Burritos Without Borders, I want to bring bold Mexican flavors to France while using this food truck as a vehicle for impact. A portion of every burrito sold will go toward supporting grassroots organizations in the developing world—local changemakers working to uplift communities, fight poverty, and create better opportunities for those who need it most (*more about that below).

Beyond Burritos: A Fund for Grassroots Changemakers

At Burritos Without Borders, giving back isn’t just a tagline—it’s baked into our mission. Every year, we will set aside a percentage of our earnings to create a dedicated fund for grassroots organizations making a difference in their communities.

Small, local NGOs will be able to apply for a BwB Community Grant, which will support innovative, community-driven projects. A diverse board of passionate individuals will review applications, ensuring a fair, transparent, and impact-driven selection process. The entire journey—from applications to final grant decisions—will be shared online, allowing our supporters to see exactly how their contributions help create lasting change.

This is more than a food truck—it’s a movement. With every burrito we sell, we’re rolling up change, one community at a time.
