In 1993, I met a man named Bunny in Jamaica who would become one of the most loyal, kind-hearted, and generous souls I’ve ever known. For over 30 years, Bunny has been more than just a friend—he’s been a guide, a protector, and a joyful spirit who made every trip to Jamaica unforgettable.
If you’ve ever traveled with me to Jamaica, chances are you’ve met Bunny. He was the self-employed driver who didn’t just get us from point A to B—he made sure we felt safe, welcomed, and immersed in the beauty of the island. Bunny has always gone above and beyond, not because he had to, but because that’s who he is. He’s the kind of person who gives without asking, who shows up without being called, and who makes strangers feel like family.
Now Bunny needs us.
Bunny has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and is undergoing treatment. For the first time in our 35-year friendship, Bunny reached out and asked for help. Bunny is a Rastafarian who lives an "Ital" lifestyle, living close to nature, rejecting artificial influences, and maintaining a pure body and spirit through everything from diet to music to relationships and beyond.
Typically, Bunny would rely on wholistic medicine to cure his illnesses, however this particular illness has found him in a desperate situation requiring medical intervention in order to save his life. Living in Jamaica without access to affordable healthcare is a daily struggle. There’s no safety net, no insurance to fall back on. Bunny is facing this battle with courage, but he shouldn’t have to face it alone.
I’m asking for your help—whether you’ve met Bunny personally or are moved by his story—I ask that you contribute whatever you can. Every dollar will go directly toward his treatment. I want to show Bunny that the love and care he’s given to so many over the years is coming back to him now, when he needs it most.
Thank you for standing with Bunny. Your support means everything.
