On December 1, Carlos “Bumper” Hidalgo suffered a sudden hemorrhagic stroke. One ambulance ride and one life flight later, he arrived at Albany Medical Center. The following week was filled with numerous tests, and a rebound “thunderbolt” headache caused by spasming blood vessels and hypertension. After a long week of treatment and exceptional medical care, Bumper was finally released to return home with his wife, Suzanne. It was an incredible ordeal.
Through all of these events, the painful episodes that doctors say is a 10 out of 10 when it comes to headache pain, the nights in the critical care units, the uncertainty of health issues, and the burden of being out sick while self-employed, Bumper and Suzanne seemed to deepen and intensify their faith that God makes no mistakes and this was all part of His perfect plan. Despite suffering from persistent vision loss and weakness in his right arm and hand, Bumper never lost faith or hope, and he encouraged the staff who attended to him, praying with them, praying for them, and giving anyone who would listen the reason for the hope that he and his wife shared together. As difficult as it was to walk through, it was beautiful to behold.
Now that this incident is behind them, they are dealing with the realities of medical expenses, including the $60,000 helicopter ride. This fund is being set up to help them with these expenses. If the Hidalgos have been a blessing to you, if you want to bless them by helping them with these expenses, please give here. This is an opportunity to encourage people who spend their lives encouraging people. Thank you for your generosity and support.
