Hello, I am raising money to help pay for my cat Bugs' medical bills. He is about a year and a half old, and on Friday, October 24th, I found him not eating and crying as he tried to use the litter box. I rushed him to the emergency room, and the vets found his bladder the size of a softball due to his urethra being blocked. They had to put a catheter in to help drain his bladder, and I was told the pee coming out at that time was very dirty and bloody, with chunks of crystals coming out. They initially told me that he’d be there for 24 hours to drain his bladder, but unfortunately, after 24 hours, the pee coming out was still very dirty and bloody, so they kept him for one more night. On Sunday, October 26th, his pee was starting to look better, so they attempted to remove the catheter and hoped that he’d be able to pee on his own. Unfortunately, he still couldn’t, so they had to put the catheter back in and keep him for another 2 days. During this time, he developed a UTI, which they said was common with the procedure he was going through. Finally, on Wednesday, October 29th, they attempted to remove the catheter again to see if he could pee by himself, and luckily, he was able to, and I was allowed to go pick him up. He’s a very strong kitty to be able to make it through all that, but unfortunately, he is not done yet. There is a chance he could get clogged up again somewhere down the road even with a lot of medications and the prescription food I have to now feed him. I was told that if I hadn’t noticed his issue or if I left him for one more day before bringing him in, he would have passed. They don’t have an exact reason why this happens to some boy cats. It could just be random or sometimes due to stress, which Bugs did unfortunately lose his best little ferret friend Coraline at the beginning of that week due to unknown causes. It’s been a very difficult week for myself and all my pets. I’m so happy my little guy is now home and okay, but the medical bill I had to pay for him has really taken a toll on my living situation and just everything in general. Anything anyone could donate would be greatly appreciated, but I know in this day and age, a lot of people may be in the same situation as I am in now, and if you can’t donate, that is perfectly fine. All I ask is that you continue to pray for my little guy that he can recover quickly. Thank you all!!
