James Michael “Mike” Hedden, 54, passed away on February 21, 2026. Born in Frankfort, Kentucky, Mike was a dreamer who chased adventure from coast to coast, eventually finding his calling as a chef and community builder. After years in California, he returned home, where he met his wife, Katie Flynn Hedden.

Mike’s passion for bringing people together was evident in everything he did, especially through Buddy’s Pizza. He transformed the restaurant into a gathering place where laughter and good food were always on the menu. Mike’s legacy lives on in the downtown community he helped revitalize, the opportunities he gave to others, and the countless friendships he fostered.

The funds raised through this campaign will help sustain the business expenses and ensure employees are able to get paid while all accounts are on hold with Mike's sudden passing.
