Help Bernard Williams Jr., AKA Buck, Recover After a Tragic Shooting

Our family is reaching out with heavy hearts after a senseless act of violence forever changed our lives.

On the Eastern Shore Virginia, our beloved Bernard Williams Jr., affectionately known as Buck, became a victim of the recent tragic shooting. Bernard Williams “Buck” was a kind, caring man who always gave back to his community, especially to the elderly. No matter what he was doing, if he saw someone in need, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He was also a mentor to many young people, always willing to offer encouragement, guidance, and advice.

Tragically, Buck became the victim of a senseless act of violence. He was not involved in any confrontation—he was simply retrieving his family’s dog. As he was walking back into the house, he was shot from behind with his back turned.

Buck was an innocent bystander whose life was forever changed by this heartbreaking tragedy. Our family is asking for your prayers, support, and any donation you can give during this incredibly difficult time. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps ease the financial burden and allows us to focus on his recovery and healing. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and continued prayers. By the grace of God, Bernard survived, and he is now fighting through the long road to recovery. While we are incredibly grateful that he is still with us, the emotional, physical, and financial impact on our family has been overwhelming.

Our mother was present during this heartbreaking event and is now coping with the emotional trauma of witnessing something no family should ever have to experience. As we focus on supporting Bernard and helping our mother through this difficult time, the costs continue to grow.

Neither Bernard nor our mother asked for this fundraiser to be created. They are focused on healing, taking one day at a time, and would never ask others for help themselves. As their family, however, we know the financial burden of this tragedy is real, and we want to lift some of that weight from their shoulders so they can focus on what truly matters—recovery, healing, and being together.

We are asking for help to ease some of the financial burden, including:

* Medical and recovery-related expenses

* Travel costs to and from the Eastern Shore, including repeated trips across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge

* Lodging, meals, and transportation while visiting and supporting Bernard

* Other unexpected expenses our family has faced during this difficult time
