Imagine a mobile library cart filled with books, zines, and tiny treasures—rolling through Glendale, popping up at parks, schools, and community events, and sparking creativity wherever it goes. That’s the vision for Buccal Studios: The Mobile Library.
What is The Mobile Library?
The Mobile Library is a pop-up library on wheels created by Buccal Studios, a community-centered arts and literacy organization in Glendale.
It will:
- Bring curated books, zines, and creative resources directly to families and young artists
- Pop up at parks, schools, markets, and community events
- Offer simple, hands-on art and reading activities that make literacy feel fun and accessible
This is a non-lending, community-focused library cart—meant to spark curiosity, conversation, and creativity wherever it appears. People are welcome to enjoy the materials at the community site and return them before leaving.
Why this fundraiser?
The goal is to raise $6,000 to fund:
- A custom mobile library cart (from Icicle Tricycles)
- Branding and signage
- Starter supplies: books, zines, bookmarks, and simple art materials for pop-up activities
This is a one-time, project-based campaign to help launch The Mobile Library and get it rolling.
Simple thank-yous for every supporter!
To keep things easy and welcoming, there are no complicated tiers. Every donor, at any amount, will:
- Be listed (with permission) as a Mobile Library Founder on the website
- Receive a digital thank-you zine or art print created for this project
- Be invited to a Mobile Library Launch Party (virtual or in-person) once the cart is ready to roll
No pressure, no minimums—just shared ownership and gratitude.
