Hi everyone, I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for someone very dear to me — Bubba. Bubba is 54 years old and has Up syndrome (Down syndrome). Anyone who knows him will tell you that he has the purest heart, a bright smile, and a love for life that inspires everyone around him. He brings laughter and light into every room, and he’s been a source of strength and joy in our family for decades. But now, Bubba is facing the toughest battle of his life: stage 4 colon cancer. The cancer has begun to spread, and though the road ahead is uncertain and full of challenges, Bubba is fighting with everything he has. Despite the pain and fatigue, he remains hopeful, always trying to comfort us with his kindness — even when he’s the one who needs comfort the most. Bubba requires frequent hospital visits, palliative care radiation, medications, and specialized care tailored to his needs. Our family is doing everything we can, even though there is no cure, we are trying to make him as comfortable and his life as enjoyable as possible. That’s why we’re turning to this community — to friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers — for help. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward Bubba’s care, transportation to and from Mayo Clinic hospital in Jacksonville Florida, and the in-home support he needs to continue fighting with dignity and comfort.
