About 2 weeks ago, Bryna Freeman heard the word that no one wants to hear from their physician. Cancer. She was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer, which affects only about 2% of the female population. Following her PET Scan, she learned that her cancer is Stage 3, and in one lymph node, but fortunately hasn't metastasized to other organs. However, the tumor itself is not able to be removed, so her treatment plan is a low dose of chemo every Monday for 5 weeks, along with radiation every day for 5 weeks. It may also be necessary for her to go to John's Hopkins for some extra direct radiation down the road. Her Oncology specialist has said that they are "treating to cure," and I am believing that for her.
Bryna has always been the sole parent & provider for her 16 yr old daughter, Sidoney. She is a small business owner here in Lititz, where we live. If you're local, you may know her as the owner/massage therapist of A Healing Touch, located off of Cedar, on Main St. She already took a huge hit financially when COVID-19 shut everything down, and yet she still stayed positive and somehow made it all work. When she recently shared her story about the cancer discovery, she mentioned that she'd hoped to work through treatments, because not working to provide for her daughter isn't an option. I am starting this fundraiser because I want there to be an option for not working through treatment. Chemo is tough, and resting, both physically & mentally, will play a huge part in her healing.
If you don't know Bryna from her presence around Lititz, you may know her from some of the many other hats she's worn: Airline Stewardess, Sidoney's Mom, Dance Mom, EPAC Theatre Mom, Warwick HS Track Mom, and friend to many. But definitely her most important role is to Sidoney, and it would be a great gift to both of them, if finances were just one less thing for them to be concerned with, so please join me in helping that to happen. Whether or not you're able to contribute financially, will you please share with everyone you know!!? And if you are local, it might help her to offer some help as well.
Thanks so much for your time! Now let's bless these two amazing creatures!
*just a housekeeping note - once this account is created, I will be sending Bryna the link, so that she will be entirely in control of the finances, but I will still give updates.
