Where do I start? It seems like an impossible feat.

About five years ago, after almost 40 years of no contact whatsoever, my husband, Andy, reconnected with his biological father, Bryce. This contact alone was the result of a miraculous work in Andy's heart and years of healing and prayer. We found out that Bryce had left the United States several years prior and had been living in Mexico. Two years ago, Andy was blessed to be able to fly down to Bucerias and spend a week with him.

About a month ago, we received news that Bryce isn't doing well. Honestly, "isn't doing well" is a gross understatement.

Evidently, there was a tumor growing near his left hip that grew to the point of completely disintegrating his hip bone. About a year ago, he broke his hip as a result, and it became completely detached. He has not been able to get adequate medical treatment in Mexico due to his lack of proper insurance there. The tumor has continued to grow, and Bryce is now fully bedridden with no medical care beyond an excessive amount of painkillers.

Time is not on our side, and we are desperate.

After many consultations with insurance companies and conversations with the airlines, his friends, and a nurse in Mexico, we are faced with a seemingly impossible feat.

The only option for Bryce to receive the medical care he needs and have a chance at living is to get back to the United States via emergency medical evacuation. This means a specialized company would send an air ambulance (plane or helicopter) fully staffed with ICU medical personnel to pick him up at his bedside in Mexico and fly him back to a hospital in the United States.

Unfortunately, the cost of this service will range from $45,000 to $65,000. There will be many other costs involved as well, so this is just a starting point.

Like I said, seems impossible... After a rough year for us with Andy's own cancer battle, a big move, and the stress those things brought to self-employment, this isn't something we're able to fund. But I know that I serve the God of the impossible. So we are doing the only things we can think of to do...we are praying and setting up this GoFundMe.

If we begin fundraising and for some reason something would happen that would prevent the funds being put toward Bryce, we will refund every penny. If you feel led in any way, every dollar will help.

Please share. I can't even begin to express the desperation we feel. But God.
