Bryans “never give up” Journey! Lets beat cancer!

Donation protected
On Wednesday May 22nd, Bryan suffered an ischemic stroke in the left side of his brain. He stayed home from work that day and wasn't feeling great. He was mowing the lawn when all of the sudden he could not move his right arm/leg, lost his balance and fell. He could not talk at this point to try to alert his mother-in-law who was also doing yard work. She found him on the ground 5 minutes later, squirming in panic. 911 was called and paramedics arrived 6 minutes later.

Bryan was urgently transported to Rhode Island Hospital. The doctor called his wife Julie with an update that Bryan needed emergency surgery to remove the blood clot from his brain. Luckily, Bryan was in the window to receive a life saving medication called tPA that is given to certain stroke patients within 1 hour of his symptoms starting. Julie rushed to the hospital and was able to see Bryan before he went to surgery. She said "I love you" before they took him to surgery. She then joked with Bryan saying “you better make it so I can nag you for life” Bryan smirked.

Bryan had surgery to remove the blood clot which was initially complicated the clot forming again. Once all clots were removed Bryan was admitted to Neuro ICU for monitoring and continued care. Strokes recoveries can take a long time and he will be going to rehab for PT, OT and speech therapy. If anyone knows Bryan, he's a great husband, father, son, uncle and friend. He loves animals more than people. He doesn't talk much but has a heart of gold and would do anything for loved ones.

This page is to support Bryan's recovery, getting the therapy he needs so he can focus on being a dad. The funds will go towards his immediate outgoings including, loss of earnings, rehab, medical expenses, medication, consultations & treatment.

Bryan's life has quickly been turned upside down, and he is doing all he can to make sure he comes out fighting even stronger than before. He just needs your support to get him there.

Thank you to all who reached out, your support and prayers don't go unnoticed and we appreciate everyone.

**UPDATED 9/13/2024:

Since May 22nd, Bryan has suffered 4 strokes, 2 heart attacks, heart failure due to an infection which lead to open heart surgery and was diagnosed with lung cancer which caused this whole nightmare.

Every set back has brought Bryan back to square one with recovery from his strokes. He is paralyzed on his right side, incontinent, and has aphasia. He needs 24/7 care which is hard for me as a caregiver to care for him and our 2 year old daughter while trying to maintain a full time job so we can get some income.

He cant get state assistance because we are married and I "make too much" per the State but we all know you can't live on one income nowadays especially with a disabled person and a toddler. It has been such a stressful nightmare on my end trying to be Bryan's advocate and voice.

To those who have donated, I cannot thank you enough as my family would not be where it is today without your generosity <3

What are donations used for:
  • Outstanding medical bills
  • Rehab equipment
  • Medications/Chemo treatment
