Hi friends, family, and community,

My name is Bryan, and on January 23rd, I’ll be undergoing Phase 1 of my Gender Affirming Bottom Surgery — the next step in a journey that has been years in the making.

Transitioning has been one of the most transformative, grounding, and life-affirming experiences of my life. It’s allowed me to live more fully as myself — the person I always knew I was. This surgery represents not just a medical milestone, but an emotional and spiritual one: a chance to align my body with the man I’ve worked so hard to become.

While my insurance covers most of the direct medical expenses, there are still many costs that fall outside that coverage — especially transportation to and from appointments and 12 weeks of lost income while I heal. My goal is $6,000 to help bridge that gap.

Breakdown of Costs

1️⃣ Vehicle Rental & Transportation — $2,000
Jay and I will need to rent a vehicle for pre-op appointments, the surgery itself, and multiple follow-up visits. This ensures safe, reliable transportation for both my husband and me, who will be helping with my care.

2️⃣ Lost Wages During 12-Week Recovery — $3,000
I’ll be out of work for approximately 12 weeks to allow my body to heal fully.
  • Property Tax (my half) and basic living expenses
  • Utilities and groceries
  • Pet care for our kitty while I recover
  • Transportation for any follow-up appointments during recovery

3️⃣ Recovery & Aftercare Supplies — $800
Recovery is detailed and delicate, requiring specialized supplies not covered by insurance. This includes:

  • Prescription and over-the-counter medications
  • Compression garments and padding
  • Medical cleaning and wound care supplies
  • A wedge pillow and other comfort supports for resting and sleeping safely

4️⃣ GoFundMe Fees — $200
GoFundMe charges a small transaction fee on each donation to ensure funds are processed and delivered securely.

Total Goal: $6,000
