Hi friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
We are reaching out to you with happy hearts asking for your support for my brother (in-law) Bryan.
yesterday morning, August 13th, he received the long-awaited call from Mayo Clinic saying they had a match on a kidney! This will be his 4th and final transplant.
A bit of his story:
Bryan was first diagnosed with his disease (Glomerulonephritis) as a freshman in college and has been battling it ever since. If you know Bryan or "B" to his friends and family, you know that this disease had met its match with him. It didn't stop him from playing basketball, graduating college, coaching at a college, working in the newspaper industry, getting married, starting a family, and continuing his love for basketball by assisting in coaching his son's basketball team, all while being a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and Godparent. The constant setbacks, surgeries, dialysis, and pain never stopped him from showing up and doing what he does best!
As many of you know, Bryan has always been the one to help others, offering support, love, and kindness in ways that have touched everyone around him. Now, it's our turn to be there for him.
When that long-awaited call came to get in the car and get here now, he did. This gave little time to plan for many expenses associated with this process that are not fully covered by insurance.
The financial burden of a kidney transplant is overwhelming, especially being 7 hours from home. In addition to the surgery itself, there are numerous medical expenses, including housing, hospital stays, medications, post-surgery care, transportation to medical appointments, and lost wages for time off work for his caregivers (family) while they are there to help and support him. While insurance will help cover some costs, we are still looking at a significant gap that we simply can’t fill alone.
How You Can Help:
We are asking for your support, whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign with your network. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in easing the financial strain on our family and allowing B to focus on his recovery instead of financial worries.
Please consider donating to this life-saving cause. If you are unable to donate at this time, we understand but ask that you share this page with others who may be able to help. Your prayers, thoughts, and well-wishes are also deeply appreciated.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
We are forever grateful for the love and strength of this incredible community. Together, we can help B and his family get home, heal, and give him the chance to live a long, healthy life.
