Hello everyone - Our brother Bryan is currently undergoing radiation for throat cancer. Once his treatment is done, he will take a short break to try to recover from all of the side effects of the radiation. He will then undergo surgery on his kidney to remove and biopsy a mass that was found there.
Unfortunately, he is really going through it right now from the effects of the radiation. He is in a lot of pain, exhausted, nauseous, and unable to eat anything solid due to blisters inside of his throat. Unfortunately, his job no longer offers the short-term disability benefits that he paid into. At the start of his treatment, he was still making it into work, but his current condition has him missing work, and the day-to-day bills, as well as the medical bills, are piling up.
Unfortunately, the world, and the bills, don’t stop when we are going through a medical crisis.
Our brother previously worked as an anesthesia technician during emergency and trauma surgery as well as on the COVID floor during the height of the pandemic. So he’s seen some of the worst of the worst. He optimistically had hoped that his cancer treatment wouldn’t take him away from his daily life and his job, that he loves, as an RBT.
He works with kiddos that have special needs, a calling he found later in life.
Bryan is not just our brother; he is a son, a dad, a grandpa, an uncle, a friend, and a kind and compassionate teacher to his special needs kiddos.
He has a long road ahead of him as he fights to heal his body and we would love to help alleviate some of the stress of the financial burdens that come with having cancer and the inability to go to work.
No amount is too small and all donations, prayers, good thoughts, and shares of this fundraiser are more appreciated than you’ll ever know.
Thank you so much!!
