Bryan Machen is the kind of guy who is usually the first person you call when you’re moving a couch, need a jumpstart, or just need someone to show up and help fix whatever’s broken. He’s spent years being everyone’s reliable "go-to" guy, but lately, his own internal wiring has decided to go on strike.

After years of unexplainable symptoms, Bryan was recently diagnosed with Moyamoya, a rare condition that affects blood flow to the brain. To get things back in working order, he’s heading to Stanford Medical Center for two specialized brain surgeries.

It’s time for us to return the favor and be the "backup" he’s always been for us.

While the team at Stanford is the best in the business, getting to California isn't quite as simple as a quick trip down the road.
