Support Bryan Murray's Recovery Journey
Donation protected
On Friday May 9th, our father, Bryan Murray, was hit by an uninsured drunk driver at the intersection of 20 and 535, while traveling northeast on 20. He had a thoracic aortic dissection caused by the impact, which required a stent to be placed on his aorta. He also has a broken wrist, and his right femur was snapped in half, both of which had to be surgically repaired. He has approximately 8 broken ribs, and also suffered a stroke due to his injuries. He was placed on a ventilator for 3 days, to allow him to breathe without pain, so he didn't develop pneumonia. He was in the shock trauma ICU for 13 days. He was on a feeding tube until the 20th. On the 21st, he was finally downgraded to a regular hospital room.
Due to the extent of his injuries, we have no idea how much the medical bills will be, or how long he will be out of work (if he is able to return to work at all). We do not know how much he will be compensated by the states crime victims program or how much insurance will cover.
Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate the next several months. We are extremely grateful for your love and generosity.
