Support Bryan Erb and Family Manage His ALS

A few of us from the Shikellamy Class of 1986 , Sunbury, PA, created this gofundme to support one of our classmates, Bryan Erb, and his family. 

Bryan is one one of the best guys you would ever know. He is ALWAYS smiling! His wife, Cathy, is a sweetheart, as are their son and daughter, Ryan and Elizabeth.

 
In April 2020, Bryan was diagnosed was ALS Disease, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.  Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.  It weakens muscles and impacts physical functions. Since ALS attacks only motor neurons, the senses of sight, touch, hearing, taste, and smell aren't affected.  Once ALS starts, it almost always progresses. Most people with ALS eventually lose the ability to walk, dress, write, speak, swallow, breathe, and their life span is shortened. Bryan's disease is rapidly progressing. Currently, Bryan cannot walk, talk, or eat. 


We are raising money to support his family with whatever they need. A current need they have is to provide home health care for Bryan when his wife, Cathy, is working, and when other family members and friends are unable to support. The family's insurance does not cover home health care costs.
