Help Us Support Cancer Patients Through the Better Every Day Foundation
In February 2024, I was diagnosed with leukemia. Over the course of my treatment, I endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy, total body radiation, a bone marrow transplant, and a grueling battle with GVHD.
I spent over six months in the hospital — and during that time, I saw firsthand a deep lack of direct support for patients navigating this overwhelming journey.
Out of that season of suffering, I created the Better Every Day Foundation — an organization with a mission to provide meaningful, practical, and emotional support to cancer patients when they need it most.
While we are still in the process of finalizing our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, the Better Every Day Foundation is officially registered at the state level and already making an impact.
What We’re Doing Now
Right now, our primary focus is delivering care packages to newly diagnosed blood cancer patients. These kits are carefully designed by someone who’s been there — me — and include items that offer comfort, relief, and connection:
* Oncology-safe creams and chapsticks to combat the painful skin side effects of chemo and radiation
* Old-fashioned lemon drops to ease “chemo mouth” and the bitter aftertaste of central line flushes
* Fuzzy hospital socks to bring comfort to patients experiencing severe nerve pain, numbness, and sensitivity from CIPN
* Durable water bottles to encourage hydration — critical when dealing with vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration caused by treatment
* Emotional and spiritual support in the form of devotionals, prayer books, Bibles, motivational wristbands, and handwritten encouragement cards
* Connect Cards offering direct access to our support line, where patients can talk with survivors, ask questions, request prayer, or schedule in-person visits where we can bring approved meals and offer one-on-one encouragement
We also make regular visits to local cancer units to drop off Connect Cards, wristbands, and handmade cards from local elementary and middle school students — small gestures that bring big smiles.
And for patients who have reached the major milestone of being one year post bone marrow transplant, we send “Happy Re-Birthday” cards — a special way to celebrate life after a life-saving procedure.
The Vision Ahead
This is just the beginning.
I dream of a day when the Better Every Day Foundation can offer even more — including financial assistance, counseling resources, and family support services. Every cancer journey is different, but no one should have to walk it alone.
When I was first diagnosed, I was terrified of what the future might hold — but I also believed that somehow, more good would come out of my diagnosis than bad. Today, through the work of this foundation, that belief is becoming a reality.
How You Can Help
Until now, I’ve personally funded nearly everything we’ve done. But as we move forward and grow, I’m reaching out for support.
Your donation — big or small — will help us continue:
* Delivering care packages
* Visiting hospital units
* Expanding our support network
* Finalizing our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status
* And most importantly: reminding cancer patients they are seen, supported, and never alone.
Together, we can bring light, love, and lasting encouragement to those in the fight of their lives.
Thank you for believing in this mission and for being part of something truly meaningful.
With gratitude,
Bryan Bell-Anderson
