Brutus was not the dog I had intended to adopt. However, when I arrived at the shelter on March 22, 2016, the dog I was interested in was spoken for. The incredible shelter staff told me that there were only two dogs left to adopt out - nothing short of a miracle for a busy Humane Society. Figuring it couldn't hurt to just visit with one of them, I was brought back and Brutus was placed in my arms as if he had been mine all along. From that moment on, he has been my best buddy, my most honorable little guy, the best boy dog a girl could ever ask for. Heartbreakingly, our time together in this life is nearing its end.
Two weeks ago, Brutus fell mysteriously ill and we've done all that we can to figure out what was causing him to feel so sick. As much as we hoped for a positive outcome, all we can do now is keep him as comfortable as possible for as long as possible, until it's his time to cross the Rainbow Bridge.
I know it's a lot to ask, especially at the end of the year, but I could use some help covering his medical and eventual end-of-life care costs. Anything raised will go to reducing the credit card debt I've incurred, just over $4,800.00, and to the vet bill from saying goodbye, which I anticipate to be a few hundred dollars.
I deeply appreciate any assistance you are able and willing to give, or if you're able to share this among your own network. Thank you, and know that from his throne-nest of blankets, Brutus is thanking you, too <3
