My name is Jess, and Bruno is one of several cats in our household. We adopted Bruno many years ago from a PetSmart, where he was the only cat left after an all-day adoption event, because he was just too precious to leave behind. Since we brought him home, he has become very close to our other cats, especially his 'brothers', and has shown himself to be a very sweet and loving cat, at least on his own terms.
Anyway, this morning, while feeding the cats, I noticed that Bruno was behaving oddly: yowling and pacing about, and running away from the other cats he'd always gotten along with. We ended up taking him to the emergency vet, only to be told he had a urinary blockage, which would require surgery and multiple days in the hospital. Anyone who has pets knows what a nightmare this is, not just to be worried about the health of the animal, but also the high costs of medical care. Clearing a urinary blockage plus all the diagnostic tests and X-rays to find the cause, and the necessary hospital care came with a high-end cost estimate of $5400.
We've managed to cover the costs short-term so Bruno can at least get the treatment he needs, but we're left with a huge debt to cover in the long term. So, any help to offset the burden would be greatly appreciated.
