Hi. My name is Eva. I am writing this page for my niece Mariana and her husband, Bruno.
Please help Bruno and his family manage their quality of life during Bruno’s final days. Bruno was diagnosed with testicular cancer with subsequent surgical procedure of orchiectomy during the early part of 2019. He received chemotherapy for four months due to metastases of the lungs and retroperitoneal areas. In January 2020, an aggressive malignant brain tumor was identified and ultimately removed. In September, the brain tumor reemerged and was again operated on with associated treatments. Throughout this time-frame, Bruno experienced an unfortunate rapid decline. While he maintained admirable optimism and fortitude (with brief periods of positive treatment response), any progress was met with relapse and rapid deterioration. His process has also been met with multisystem complications. He has experienced seizures ongoing that have been resistant to treatment. Bruno has underwent ongoing chemotherapy, radiation, and multiple surgical/neurosurgical procedures over the prior two years. This has of course taken a profound toll on Bruno, his wife, and his family. Mariana has been forced to quit her job so she can provide the care and love required for Bruno full time.
His most recent treatments and surgical procedures have proven ineffective. Most recently, on December 24, 2020, he was informed that his cancer aggressively returned and that there are limited treatment options remaining. The family is now forced to come to terms with the unimaginable. Bruno and his family are met with so many financial obligations. Bruno has required a significant range of assistance to manage his days and he has quite limited independence. Mariana is committed to prioritizing comfort, care, and love for her husband.
