We are Bruin Bhangra, UCLA’s 501(c)(3) Punjabi folk dance organization and the host of one of the longest-running and most prestigious Bhangra competitions in the world.
This Memorial Day weekend, we will be hosting Bruin Bhangra XXVI in Royce Hall, one of the most iconic performance venues in the world, where legendary artists such as Frank Sinatra have performed. Bringing Bhangra to this stage is about more than dance - it’s about cultural recognition, preservation, and showcasing South Asian heritage as a respected art form.
Our competition draws over 2,000 attendees from across North America and introduces Bhangra to a diverse, global audience in Los Angeles. In addition, all proceeds from the event are donated to a Los Angeles–based charity, allowing us to give back directly to the community that hosts us.
We are currently seeking donors who align with our values of community, culture, and local impact, and we appreciate any contribution!
