Thank you for reading this GoFundMe request. I am Mark Brodsky, younger brother of Bruce Brodsky, a retired Vietnam-era Air Force Veteran living in Auburn, Washington. Bruce is a self-employed 76-year-old specializing in electronics assemblies. Bruce also supplemented his social security and monthly income with Uber drives. He has suffered from declining mobility and severe spinal stenosis.

Last April 2025, while attempting to get off his sofa to go to the bathroom, he fell and fractured a vertebra in his back, leaving him unable to walk while enduring great pain. With the modest assistance of the VA and Medicaid, he has been able to have surgery but is unable to continue rehabilitation (set. 9-12 months minimum).

Currently, he will no longer be able to continue his necessary rehab so he can walk and regain some form of mobility. The immediate challenge is while he seeks alternative programs to supplement his income short term in order to enable him to retain his "Senior Rent controlled" apartment where he lives and does his work projects.

He cannot afford the extended rehab cost and his apartment with his current income.

We are appealing to some kind souls to help with his short-term expenses while alternative options can be secured. We think a goal of $7,000 will stabilize his financial situation for 2-2.5 months. Other sources of funds are depleted.

I live in Chicago and Bruce's two children are scattered east of the Mississippi. Thankfully, he has a close friend who has been helping with seeking funding for his care in Auburn, Washington.

An account has been established for donated funds and will be kept locally in the Auburn area.

Any funds of any kind will go a long way to help Bruce Brodsky learn to walk again and help a Veteran out after the government cutbacks in support for veterans and Medicaid cutbacks.
