As most of you know, my husband Bruce is a very private and humble man. He has been the rock that holds this family together for many years. He has been a very hard worker, wonderful father, and awesome husband, always helping others when needed. As many of you know, he had back surgery on September 12, 2022. After a super long recovery from that, we decided to sell our house in Tennessee and move back to Michigan to be closer to family and friends. We were back in Michigan in November 2023, looking forward to starting the new chapter of our lives.
We bought a house in Davison, MI, in December of 2023 (our Christmas present). That is when things started going downhill. Bruce ended up in the hospital in January 2023 for congestive heart failure. He is currently wearing a life vest. The next thing we know, we got a phone call from a doctor telling us he had found a spot on an x-ray. It turned out to be lung cancer. During this whole process, he was complaining about his left foot which they seemed to be pushing aside (he is a diabetic). So needless to say, the foot got worse, and he ended up having a below-the-knee amputation about 4 weeks ago.
He is doing well, however, we are having a hard time getting him in and out of the house. Between the medical bills and regular bills, we are having a hard time coming up with the money to put a ramp on the house/garage for him to be more independent. Also, it would be easier for us to get him in and out of the house. Thank you for listening to our story.
