Support Bruce's Healing Journey After GDV
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
My name is Sierra and I am making this on behalf of my best friend and the best dog in the world, Bruce. On Tuesday, out of nowhere, Bruce was faced with a life-threatening condition called GDV (commonly known as bloat). Gastric Dilatation Volvulus is a condition in dogs where the stomach fills with gas, distends, and twists. This condition is a dog parent's worst nightmare. His stomach twisted, which cut off blood flow to his stomach. Farinn had him to the hospital within 30 minutes of his first symptoms, and shortly after, he was in emergency surgery.
In surgery, they had to remove his spleen because it had gone too long without blood flow. Parts of his stomach also lost blood flow but were unable to be removed. After surgery, he needed a plasma infusion due to his blood not clotting. He's not out of the woods yet and is still in the hospital being closely monitored.
If you have met Farinn and Bruce, you know their bond. Wherever Farinn is, Bruce is. He is truly the most loyal, loving dog I have ever met. The surgery and follow-up care have resulted in a hefty vet bill that I want to do everything in my power to help her with. Farinn has no idea I am doing this and would probably kill me if she knew. But Farinn is someone that would go to the ends of the earth for people she loves.
Every donation will go directly to Bruce's medical expenses and recovery care. Just sharing this GoFundMe means the world!
Bruce is already showing signs of recovery, but there’s still a long road ahead. With your support, we can help them heal without the added stress of overwhelming costs.
Thank you for reading & for any help you can offer!
With love,
Sierra
