Dear friends & family,

We wanted to share an update about our Dad, Bruce Hein, and ask for your continued love and support as we navigate through this challenging time. As some of you may not know, Dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer in January. He did two surgeries to remove the cancer in his bladder, and we proceeded to do checks every two months to make sure that it did not return. We were told every check that he was doing well.

However, on November 16th Dad experienced a stroke. While in the hospital, they did testing & found that his cancer had metastasized to his bones, ribs, & lymph nodes. At that time we worked on getting approved with Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City. We have since been approved for a consult appointment.

While waiting for this appointment, he had another stroke on November 29th & was life-flighted to Salt Lake City University Hospital. While in Salt Lake, the doctors ran additional tests, and we learned that the cancer was causing the blood clots.

Dad is currently in stable condition, and the team here is working hard to address the strokes. We praise the Lord that most of the effects of the strokes have dissipated.

We are asking for your prayers that the biopsy samples that they collected will be usable for his future treatments. We also ask for prayers as my dad gets discharged and we wait for the appointment with the Cancer Center on the 18th. We are all feeling blessed and overwhelmed by all of the love and prayers that we have received. Each message is an encouragement to us all.
