Hey! I'm Becky and this is for my best friend, Brownie. She's my 12 year old rescued street cat from Korea that I adopted back in 2019. When I moved back to the US, I made sure to bring her back with me to continue to give her a permanent home that she hadn't been able to have before.

Brownie has been by my side through a lot of lonely times living by myself in Korea, the loss of my father, as well as a transition to living in the US again and changing our whole way of living. She's become such an important part of my life and things would be a lot different if I had never met her. She's always by my side, even when she's feeling extra spicy.

In the past few months, Brownie has had a few bumps on her left side, not growing in size or changing. But last week, I noticed she had started chewing at one of the bumps, which was now larger and bleeding, and had completely pulled the hair all out around it. This past Monday, I took Brownie to her vet to have her annual check as well as to get the bumps looked at. The vet took cell samples and said she'd follow up once she knew something.

Which leads to the series of phone calls that happened. The cell samples that were taken from the bumps are indeed cancerous. I met with a specialist I was referred to. They want to do surgery on Brownie to remove her mammary chain on the left side and see if there is any further growth across her other organs. The surgery is estimated at least $4000 as long as there are no complications.

This is also happening the same time in which I had my own surgery last week with an overnight hospital stay due to the potentially lethal reactions I had to the anesthesia. This is an incredibly hard time for me due to both my own health and Brownie's health, as well as the fear of possibly losing the best friend I've had for the last 5 years.
