Hi everyone — my name is Dennis, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my wife and her bakery, Brown Sugar Baking Company, a beloved 100% plant-based, vegan, allergen-friendly bakery in Seattle’s Central District. For 13 years, my wife has built Brown Sugar Baking Company into a beloved plant-based bakery in Seattle’s Central District. Due to a serious medical condition, she is not always able to work in the bakery daily. Instead, she has adapted her business model — taking online and email orders and fulfilling them when her health allows. Through resilience and flexibility, she has continued serving the community with 100% plant-based, vegan, allergen-friendly baked goods — creating a safe and inclusive space for those who often struggle to find desserts they can enjoy.

Recently, while she was working to keep the doors open and continue serving the community she loves, the bakery was robbed. Equipment was taken, supplies were lost, and this small business suffered damage that puts enormous strain on its ability to continue operating.
