Hello everyone, this is Brook Henson, the most joyous 4-year-old little girl in the world! Brook loves dogs, hiking, fishing with her dad, playing sports, and spending time with her family! Unfortunately, she currently cannot do any of those things. Here is her story.

Two months ago, Brook received the tragic diagnosis of Grade 3 Supratentorial Ependymoma Tumor — an incredibly severe type of brain cancer. There are less than 100 cases worldwide each year found to be as severe as Brook’s case. After spending the past month in the hospital undergoing multiple surgeries and celebrating Christmas there, the doctors decided it’s best to transfer her to the children’s hospital in Houston, TX. Considering Houston has the best cancer and brain tumor specialists, this move was necessary due to the severity of her case. Although thankful to be in great hands, Brook and her family have now had to move states and completely abandon the life they have always known and make the hospital their home. Brook still has an unknown number of procedures, multiple surgeries, and a number of radiation treatments ahead of her with no clear answer as to what the future holds. Her parents, Brett and Monique, did as any parents would do and packed their bags up and moved with their baby girl to Houston. They haven’t left her side, sleeping and staying at the hospital with her every single day. With their time in the hospital, that is 12 hours from home, being unknown, Brett and Monique’s jobs have taken the back burner in order to take care of and be there with their daughter. With being so far from home, both parents are placed in the situation of choosing to either be with their daughter or working to pay the bills that are inevitably coming. With the amount of procedures Brook has already had and not knowing all that is ahead, the bills have started to stack up. The last thing this family needs is to be forced to sell their home while enduring the most stressful and heartbreaking time of their life. As their family, we want to provide them with the help that is completely necessary yet will never be asked of by them for their hearts are too humble.

The Hensons are the most kind, genuine, selfless, authentic, good humans anyone knows. To know them is to love them. They are fighting and will fight harder than anyone we know, so we are positive there will be an upside soon.

For now, all we can hope for is help from you. Matthew 7:7-8 says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you shall find.”
