We have big news to share: our daughter Brooklyn will be having another surgery on June 2nd at Chicago Shriners Children's Hospital with Dr. Purnell. This is a major step in her journey, and while we are both excited and nervous, we are hopeful that it will bring her closer to being trach free. Brooklyn will be in a halo for three months, and her jaw will be wired shut. The surgery will require us to stay in Chicago for about a week, and there will be multiple follow-up visits before the halo and wires are removed. During this time, cheekbones and bone will be implemented into her lower jaw, which will mean another hospital stay of about four days.
The funds raised will help us cover the costs of time off work, gas, food, and other travel expenses as we support Brooklyn through her surgery and recovery. This journey is challenging, but we are grateful for any help that allows us to focus on Brooklyn's healing and well-being.
We appreciate your kindness and generosity as we navigate this adventure. Your support means the world to our family, and we are hopeful that, with your help, Brooklyn will take another step toward a healthier, trach-free future.
