Hello!

I am Maisie Hinsley. I am Heather Cordes' oldest daughter, and Brooklyn Cordes' older sister. I am creating this donation page for medical bills on behalf of Heather for Brooklyn's recent and current hospital stay, as well as any further medical care Brooklyn may need for her continued rehabilitation.

The bright, shining star we know as Brooklyn is amazing, strong, and resilient. She is an outstanding student and friend, all-star athlete, loving daughter/granddaughter/sister/niece/cousin, and an all-around incredible human being. Those that know Brooklyn love her immensely and know what fire she brings to this life.

On December 28th, Brooklyn was admitted to a local hospital in Iowa with bilateral pneumonia and was septic. She was transferred and admitted to Children's early Monday, December 29th, to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. She had been intubated for several days where a ventilator aided in her breathing, as well as countless IV medications to combat the illness running through her. She made impressive strides in healing and was extubated Wednesday afternoon! She was then placed on supplemental oxygen for another day to further assist. Her health has continued to improve, so much so, she has now been moved down to Med/Surg!!! She is still on IV antibiotics and not yet back to the spunky girl we all know and love but doing amazing.

Our family's gratitude is immeasurable for the team at Children's as they have provided her with the best care she could be receiving, as well as every prayer sent and well-wish thought.
