Help Brooklyn Fight Ovarian Cancer
Hi all! If this page was shared with you, we first want to say thank you for pausing to read our story…
Our family is rallying together for our incredible Brooklyn, an 18-year-old full of energy, creativity, and love for life. Just as she was preparing to begin her college journey, she received news that no young woman should ever have to hear: Brooklyn was diagnosed with a granulosa cell tumor, a rare form of ovarian cancer.
What began as what doctors thought was a simple cyst continued to grow over time, leading to surgery and biopsy results that changed everything. In just two months, Brooklyn has already undergone two surgeries, and her treatment is expected to continue for at least six more months.
Because of this, she’s had to put her college dreams on hold to focus on healing. Her mom — my sister — is a devoted single mom who has always done everything in her power to care for Brooklyn and her brother. She has taken all the time she can from work, and has exhausted her FMLA, to be by Brooklyn’s side through every surgery and appointment.
We’re asking for your help to ease some of the financial burden during this challenging time. All funds raised will go toward travel and hotel costs for medical visits, rent, bills, groceries, and other basic needs while Brooklyn’s mom takes time off work to be able to take her for appointments and care for her at home as she manages the side-effects of her chemotherapy treatments.
Brooklyn is such a bright light — she’s smart, creative, and full of joy, with so much ahead of her. We’re choosing faith over fear and holding onto hope that with love, support, and access to the care she needs, Brooklyn will come out of this stronger than ever.
Every donation, prayer, and share helps more than words can say. Thank you for standing with Brooklyn and our family as she fights for her health and her future.
