Hi, I'm Kristen, and my oldest daughter Aubrey (15) is VERY close with her sister Brooklyn (16). Brooklyn was recently diagnosed with MS. She has a large white lesion on her brain. After massive testing and poking every vein time and time again, the doctors diagnosed her with Multiple Sclerosis. Brooklyn's flare-up led to her legs going numb, being unable to walk, barely able to stand by the end of the week, brain fog, exhaustion, pain, and the scare of her life. Brooklyn is only 16 and a junior in high school. Her mother is a single mother and Brooklyn's father is nowhere in sight. This came as a shock to all of us. She has been at Cincinnati Children's Hospital for 7 days. This child has gone through a spinal tap, CT scans, MRIs, numerous needles and bruises, allergy issues with medication, and the scare of her life. Bekki is her mother, a single mother providing for a household of 4. She has had to take time from work to be there for Brooklyn day and night, while worrying if she'll lose her job. They've both lived an emotional roller coaster this week and now their lives are changed forever. Brooklyn's words at our visit yesterday, as she sat in her wheelchair, were, "You always see this on TV, or in movies, but you'll never actually think it'll happen to you." "My life is changed forever." In Bekki's words, "One day we're about to move, Brooklyn is about to start her first job, the next she can't walk."
If anyone can donate, all of this would be so greatly appreciated by the family. The money will go towards bills to help her and her mother, as well as needs for Brooklyn during this time. There are still many, many tests to be run, and doctor's visits to be had. Anything will help. Thanks ❤️
