Are you a creative or a hobbyist in NYC who wishes they had more space, tools, or community? We do!
The Brooklyn Spark is a team of crafters, artists, makers, and hobbyists all looking for the same thing: a place to make together.
We are building a hub where people of all backgrounds -- beginners to seasoned experts, can explore new hobbies and technologies, learn new skills, and bring their ideas to life. We're committed to providing affordable access to tools, technology, and education.
Imagine a space where you can:
- Get creative: we want to be more than the typical makerspace with the usual tools. We’re exploring all kinds of options including photography, pottery, textiles.. and anything else our community is excited to dig into!
- Design and fabricate: utilize 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and more to create anything you can imagine.
- Learn and grow: take workshops and classes led by experienced makers and professionals, from making earrings to doing lighting for events to building your own computer. Or lead one yourself!
- Connect and collaborate: join a community of passionate individuals who share your interests (and introduce you to new ones)
The thing is…we need your help to get started. Your contribution will ensure we can:
- Create a functional and inspiring workspace: Renovate and equip our facility with everything it needs to create the best possible spaces for all classes, equipment, and storage for all tools and supplies.
- Secure our location: Sign a lease and establish a permanent home in East Williamsburg.
- Invest in essential equipment: Purchase the tools and technology that will empower our members to create.
