Support Brooklin's Battle Against Cancer

Donation protected

Hello. My name is Leslie Rodriguez. I never thought I would find myself making a GoFundMe, but I will do whatever it takes to save my girl.

Three weeks ago, our lives were drastically changed when my oldest niece, Brooklin, had to be taken to the ER for what she thought was appendicitis. Around 3 pm that day, I received a frantic call from my sister Casey: "They found a large mass."

That night, Brooklin was transferred to Texas Children's Hospital. More tests were run. The mass had to be removed. TCH worked on getting the team of surgeons together. It took a week to gather everyone: oncologists, gynecologists, pediatrics. On the morning of Feb 19th, Brooklin went into surgery. The OR was scheduled until 12:30 in case things ran late. It was close to 3:30 when she was finally out. Along with the almost 21 cm mass that was removed, so was an ovary, fallopian tube, and appendix. The morning after, the surgeons came in to follow up. I get a FaceTime call from Brooklin, and with tears in her eyes, she says, "Tia, the doctors told me I have CANCER."

Most of you know our family has gone through some heavy things in the last 10 years. But nothing could have ever prepared me to hear those words from my oldest baby. A million thoughts rushed through my mind. This isn't something I can kiss to make better. There is no band-aid to cover it up. And I can't send her to put Vicks on it.

Yesterday, Monday, March 3, 2025, Brooklin was given her official diagnosis.

Ovarian Germ Cell Tumor & Peritoneal Carcinomatosis Stage 3.

This is my cry for help. I wish I had all the money in the world for the best doctors and medicine. I wish I could just make this go away. My Brooklin needs help. Treatment is set to begin within the next two weeks.
Brooklin is not currently covered by insurance, and aid was denied. They are trying to appeal that, but it is a long process. In the meantime, this is a way to help them cover any upfront costs or anything else that will be needed to move forward.

If you have made it this far, I want to express my eternal gratitude. Everyone has been so supportive to our entire family. Not one day goes by that we don't hear from someone checking on us. My heart is overjoyed to know how much my Brooklin is loved.

Brooklin has been so blessed with the amount of love, support, and prayers she has received. My girl is a fighter; she is not giving up. From day one, she told me, "I am not going anywhere, I have things to do!" So that means we have mountains to move for her.

I wanted to add a little about Brooklin.
She is currently a student of Goose Creek CISD, she attends a college prep high
school in hopes to become a surgeon one day.

She is the oldest of 4 siblings and the oldest cousin as well.

Brooklin loves to mow the lawn at home. She enjoys caring for her chickens and her goodest boy BuddyRay.

Brooklin and her Dad are working on a truck together that will eventually become her daily driver when she gets her driving permit.

Brooklin is a kind soul. Beautiful on the inside and outside. She is always ready to jump up and help someone when she is needed.

I am also adding Caseys Cashapp and Zelle if you prefer to contribute that way.
