In late October, I suffered an NSTEMI heart attack and spent four days in the hospital. As someone who is diabetic, anemic, and with a depleted immune system, recovery has been especially challenging. Then, on February 24, I had another heart attack and was hospitalized until March 6. During that stay, I contracted an infectious disease and rely on a wound vac, with no clear end in sight. I had to undergo three back-to-back surgeries, and as a result, I am no longer able to work. Before all of this, I was working two full-time jobs to support myself and my two Chihuahuas. I live alone and am trying to heal, both physically and emotionally. Home healthcare visits and physical therapy are helping me regain my strength and mobility, but doing everything on my own has been incredibly hard. My parents and grandparents have passed away, and as an only child, my circle of support is very small. I am grateful to my neighbor for helping care for my dogs while I was in the hospital, but as rent approaches, I am unsure how I will manage. My savings are dwindling, and while I am applying for state assistance with the help of my care team, the process is slow and uncertain. I do my best to earn a little extra through TikTok, but my health has made it difficult to keep up with posting as much as I used to. Any funds raised through this fundraiser will go directly toward my rent, daily expenses, food, and necessities while I focus on healing. Every bit of support helps me take things one day at a time.
