Hello! I am creating this page in hopes to raise money for my little sister, Brooke McPherrin. Brooke is currently 19. A few years ago, she was diagnosed with a tumor on her brain stem. She has had many ups and downs with the tumor growing and shrinking, and dealing with the long list of side effects of both the tumor and such strong medications. Unfortunately, in recent weeks, her medical team has found that her current medication is no longer effective in reducing the size of her tumor or even maintaining its current size. Her tumor is growing and putting more pressure on her brain. This is causing some side effects to worsen, like eye twitching, numbness and tingling, and loss of function of some facial muscles. Brooke will begin radiation treatments in the coming weeks. She will be staying in Omaha with housing provided by the hospital so she can get her treatments daily for 6 weeks. Radiation is very hard on your body, and that combined with needing to stay in Omaha means she will be unable to work while getting treatment and whatever time she will need for recovery afterward. Her doctors are hopeful and giving her a 90% success rate! Hopefully, this will be the treatment that makes the difference she needs. However, radiation is not going to be easy. My goal is to raise money to help her pay her bills so she has one less thing to have to worry about during this extremely hard time.
