Brookelyn, my sister, was wrongfully terminated from her job in mid-April due to her health. She suffers from debilitating migraines, which cause vision loss, pain, and, in extreme instances, pseudo-seizures. She is currently in the process of negotiating a settlement with her former employer, but in the meantime, she needs help covering essential expenses. The most urgent needs are her COBRA health insurance premium and her half of the rent payment.

I am able to support our daily needs, including groceries, utilities, and other bills, but the cost of health insurance and rent is more than we can manage alone. Brookelyn will use any funds raised to help pay for her monthly health insurance premium and her portion of the rent, ensuring she can stay covered by health insurance and keep a roof over her head while she works toward a resolution with her previous employer. Because of her migraines, and the treatments and medications she so desperately needs, it is absolutely essential that she continue to have health insurance benefits. Without health insurance, her monthly migraine medication costs over $5000, and one of her other treatments would cost over $800 each time (every 3 months or so). So while the $910 insurance premium is tough, it is MUCH better than paying for everything she needs out of pocket.
