Bronson, 4 years old, told us his belly was hurting on the 4th of March. We thought it might have been a stomach bug, so we sent him to bed. Early morning on the 5th, he woke up crying and burning up with a 103+ fever, so we took him to the Genesis Coshocton Emergency Room where they did a CAT scan, which showed inflamed lymph nodes. They couldn’t see anything other than the inflammation, so they sent us home and scheduled an appointment with his pediatrician. We got into her on the 6th. Still fevers constantly (treating with Tylenol and ibuprofen rotation), she prescribed his first antibiotic and outlined the redness that had started. On the 7th, we woke up, and it was double in size. So we rushed him to Zanesville Genesis. He was at Zanesville Genesis from the 7th to the 10th in their Children's unit, trying multiple antibiotics with no luck and constant fevers still. Then, on the 10th of March, they transferred him to Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus, and we are here until further notice with no improvement in his symptoms at all (worsening each day). Two CAT scans, three ultrasounds, and an MRI today still show inflamed lymph nodes and cellulitis with extreme swelling in his lower torso.
And as luck would have it, I, Jeremy, lost my job on February 6th because my company closed its doors. With needing to travel to and from Nationwide Children's, it's becoming very costly. Between travel, bills at home, and medical bills, we are in over our heads. So I am asking you all for help to alleviate some of the financial burden so we can focus on getting our little boy healthy again. The doctors are still not sure what's going on, but as with any infection, this could get much worse before it gets better. If you could find it in your hearts to donate to help us, we would be very grateful.
