Support Brody's Eagle Scout Project - Benefits Colonial IU20
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Brody Muthard and I am fundraising to complete my Eagle Scout Project to benefit the Early Intervention Program at Colonial IU20, which provides services to pre-school aged children with all types of diagnosed special needs. . I am looking to provide an outdoor learning center at Colonial I.U. 20 Early Intervention Program at 3144 Linden Street, Bethlehem PA 18017. They provide speech therapy, behavioral therapy, occupational therapy, and all types of early intervention services to help children transition to typical school settings or continue with Colonial IU 20 with specialized services through 12th grade. These services are provided at no direct cost to parents.
I personally received services provided by Colonial IU 20 Early Intervention Program and really benefitted from their program. After being mostly non-verbal through age four, I was able to really excel with the help that I received and transitioned to a typical Kindergarten classroom. I continued to grow and learn and eventually be tested into the gifted program in elementary school and I am currently a high school student in AP Classes, so I feel strongly that I need to give back to the program that gave me the skills and tools necessary to be my best version of myself. The school has recently moved to a better location, but the outdoor space is less than inviting. I have proposed a large project to provide two features outside of the Autistic Support Classrooms, which has been approved by my BSA Council. I realize that the scope of the project is large, but want to give back to the program that gave me so much in an equally big way. I am looking to build a wooden train feature from professional plans, with benches surrounding. I will also install a Lifetime Playset with sensory walkways that connect the play areas to the classrooms. My budget is just over $9,000, with the majority of the budget being the cost of rubber mulch and the Lifetime Playset, but these are items that I am not willing to compromise for sake of cost because I want to provide Colonial IU 20 an outdoor learning space that is as maintenance-free as possible. I am also not willing to compromise on inferior materials. I am proudly using American made products and supporting local small businesses in the form of family owned lumber supply companies.
I greatly appreciate any and all help that can be provided and I also appreciate your time and consideration. I am hopeful to get some grants or corporate sponsorships in the $500 - $1,000 range. I have applied for a few and waiting to hear from one specific company within a month. There will be a sponsorship plaque recognizing all companies who helped to fund my project. If you are a small business or corporate sponsor that wants to give a tax deductible donation and receive recognition on the plaque at the site, please reach out directly through my website, so I may provide details on how to do so.
Feel free to visit my website named above to check out the photos, progress, and lots of other details.
***Please note that funds collected here, go to Troop 76 of Lower Nazareth and will be distributed to me by Julie Bright (Troop 76 Treasurer), as needed to complete the project. The money does not go to me and I will not benefit directly from any funds donated***
Thank you for your time and consideration.
